The 2010s were when Apex scaled quality rather than output: locked mixing recipes, documented colour tolerances, and a QC routine that checks every batch against retained reference slabs instead of eyeballing. None of it photographs well. All of it is the difference between a factory and a supplier.

Colour consistency in this trade is quantified, not felt — the industry measures colour difference on the CIE ΔE scale, because instruments do not have good days or bad days. Building the habits around instrument-measured batches took the whole decade, and it coincided with the widening of our export footprint from a handful of markets toward the twenty-plus countries the company serves today. 2020–2026: The Silica Reckoning

Because fabricators who cut engineered stone inhale respirable crystalline silica, the 2020s brought the strictest safety reckoning this industry has ever faced — and it rewrote product roadmaps, including ours. In the United States, OSHA‘s permissible exposure limit for respirable crystalline silica stands at 50 micrograms per cubic metre as an eight-hour time-weighted average. Australia went further and prohibited the use of engineered stone from 1 July 2024, citing silicosis risk to workers — a decision tracked closely in Safe Work Australia‘s silica safety guidance.
